Vacuum compression therapy is based on automatic alternation of the vacuum and overpressure phases in the application cylinder in which the treated limb is placed. The VAS device works on the principle of distance electrotherapy. A relatively new form of non-contact electrotherapy that allows for skin sparing and application through clothing or bandages. It uses the action of electric currents generated deep in the tissues through electromagnetic induction, and its mechanisms of action create a transition between electrotherapy and magnetotherapy.
